My ottoman was ripping a little and I was ready for
a different look. I bought a 9x12 drop cloth at Home Depot
for $21. It gave me more than enough fabric. I cut it in half after
ensuring that I would have enough fabric to wrap around it...
and then some . I washed the drop cloth before I started. Make
sure to iron it first if you need to. I tried to iron it after and was
unsuccessful....but then again my ironing skills are lacking ;)
Here are a few pictures of the process:
before:
Completely wrapped ottoman.. I tucked and stapled material underneath.
Then made a slit.
I cut a hole making sure to keep enough material around the edges to tack down.
I cut the corners like so...There is the wrapped top in the corner of picture.
I cut around the hardware. Tacked and trimmed extra material.
After:
Not too bad for an amateur, IMHO.
Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose !
